Coreg Strengths

A healthcare provider may prescribe Coreg® (
carvedilol) to treat various conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels. Specifically, this medication is approved for treating high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. It can also help improve survival following a heart attack.

The medication comes in the form of a tablet and is typically taken twice a day. Several strengths of Coreg are available, including:

  • Coreg 3.125 mg
  • Coreg 6.25 mg
  • Coreg 12.5 mg
  • Coreg 25 mg.

You should take Coreg with food, and your dosage should be taken at the same time each day to maintain an even level in your blood. Do not stop taking the medication without first discussing it with your healthcare provider. Stopping it abruptly increases the risk for serious side effects.
