Coreg® (carvedilol) is a prescription drug often used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. It can also be given to people following a heart attack to improve survival. The medicine works by blocking beta receptors, which helps to decrease heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressures, and the workload on the heart. Potential side effects of Coreg include dizziness, diarrhea, and low blood pressure.
