Coreg® (carvedilol) is a prescription drug often used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. It can also be given to people following a heart attack to improve survival. The medicine works by blocking beta receptors, which helps to decrease heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressures, and the workload on the heart.
