Although most people tolerate Catapres
® (
clonidine hydrochloride) well, as with any medication, side effects are possible. Potential side effects of the medication include weakness,
constipation, dry mouth, and sedation. If such problems do occur, in most cases, they are mild and either do not require medical attention or can be treated easily. Certain Catapres side effects are potentially serious, however, and should be reported to your healthcare provider, including
depression or
anxiety, fainting, or hallucinations.
