Off-Label Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend using Catapres for something other than high blood pressure. Sometimes, the drug is used off-label for the following conditions:

Heroin withdrawal
Nicotine withdrawal
Severe pain
Painful menstrual periods
Menopausal hot flashes
Alcohol dependence
Migraine prevention
Glaucoma
Diarrhea associated with diabetes
Impulse control disorder
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Drooling due to certain antipsychotic medications.
