Time of Day to Take Bystolic
Bystolic® (nebivolol) is a prescription drug licensed to treat high blood pressure in adults. It comes in tablet form and is available in three different strengths.
The usual starting Bystolic dose for the treatment of high blood pressure is 5 mg once daily. If necessary, your healthcare provider may increase your dose slowly once every two weeks, up to a maximum of 40 mg once daily. For people with severe kidney impairment or moderate liver impairment, the recommended starting dose of Bystolic is 2.5 mg once daily.
You can take Bystolic at any time of day. However, it is best to take it at the same time each day to maintain an even level of medication in your system. You can take this drug either with a meal or on an empty stomach. If Bystolic seems to bother your stomach, try taking it with food.
