In clinical studies, Bystolic has been shown to significantly lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The higher the Bystolic dosage, the greater the drop in blood pressure is expected to be. By lowering blood pressure, Bystolic is thought to decrease the risks that occur with long-term high blood pressure (see Effects of High Blood Pressure), although long-term studies have not yet been performed with this medication.
Bystolic is not a cure for high blood pressure.
