Bystolic (Nebivolol) Drug Information

The prescription drug Bystolic® (
 nebivolol) is used for treating high blood pressure in adults. It is part of a class of medications known as beta blockers. By blocking beta receptors in the body, Bystolic can help decrease heart rate and both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
 
The medication comes in tablet form and is usually taken by mouth once a day. You can take the drug at any time of the day, as long as it is taken at the same time each day. You should never stop taking Bystolic abruptly, as serious problems (including heart attacks) may result.
 
Although most people tolerate this medicine well, side effects are possible. Some of the most common side effects that have been reported with Bystolic include headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and nausea.
