Teveten Medication Information

Teveten® (
eprosartan mesylate) is available only by prescription and is used to treat high blood pressure in adults. This medication is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and any other drugs you are taking before prescribing Teveten.

Although most people do not have any problems with this medication, Teveten can cause side effects, such as coughing, a runny nose, and a sore throat. Fortunately, if negative reactions do occur, they tend to be minor and easily treated.

Teveten comes in tablet form and is typically taken once or twice a day. As an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), it works to lower blood pressure by blocking a certain chemical in the body and relaxing the blood vessels.
