As part of a class of drugs known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, the medication works by blocking certain enzymes to help relax the blood vessels.
 
This drug is sold in the form of a tablet and is typically taken once a day. It can be taken with or without food. However, it should be taken at the same time every day to maintain an even level in your blood.
