Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide

Bisoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide is a combination medication often used for treating high blood pressure. It comes in tablet form and is available by prescription only. The drug contains a beta blocker and a diuretic, medications that are effective at lowering systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Most people have no problems with it, but potential side effects include fatigue, diarrhea, and dizziness.

What Is Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide?

Bisoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide (Ziac®) is a prescription medication approved to treat high blood pressure (known medically as hypertension). As the name implies, it contains two different medications: bisoprolol fumarate (Zebeta®) and hydrochlorothiazide (Esidrix®, HydroDIURIL®, Microzide®, and Oretic®).

Does This Medicine Have Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, bisoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide may cause side effects.
 However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems; most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
