Benicar comes in tablet form and is usually taken once a day orally (by mouth), with or without food. Although it does not matter what time of day you take this medicine, you should take it at the same time each day to maintain an even level in your blood.
Before you begin treatment, tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements. If you are taking Benicar, do not take any salt substitutes containing potassium or potassium supplements without first consulting your healthcare provider.
