Who Should Not Take Avapro?

You should not take Avapro if:
 
  • You are allergic to Avapro, irbesartan, or any inactive component used to make Avapro. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of inactive ingredients in Avapro.
  • You have diabetes and are also taking any medications that contain aliskiren (Tekturna®, Tekamlo®, Tekturna HCT®, Amturnide®, Valturna®), due to an increased risk for low blood pressure, high blood potassium, and kidney problems in this situation.
