By blocking a certain enzyme and relaxing the blood vessels, Altace® (ramipril) can help treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. However, Altace is not suitable for everyone. Before taking this prescription medication, talk to your healthcare provider about any medical conditions you have and any medications you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements). Although most people tolerate Altace well, side effects are possible, such as coughing, dizziness, and headaches.
