Drug Interactions With Aliskiren-HCTZ

There are potential drug interactions with aliskiren-HCTZ. Taking it with other medications, such as ACE inhibitors, potassium products, and ARBs, can change the way your body metabolizes these drugs. As a result, the effectiveness of the medications may be decreased or your risk of side effects may be increased. Drug Interactions With Aliskiren-HCTZ: An Overview

 Aliskiren-HCTZ (Tekturna HCT®) can potentially interact with a few different medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with aliskiren-HCTZ include:
 
  • Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, such as:
 
 
 
 
 
    • Potassium chloride (K-Dur®, Klor-Con®, Micro-K®)
    • Potassium citrate (Urocit-K®, Polycitra-K®)
    • Potassium gluconate
    • Potassium phosphate (Neutra-Phos-K®, K-Phos®)
    • Salt substitutes (used to flavor food)
