Accuretic Drug Interactions (Cont.)

 
Tetracycline (Sumycin, Achromycin, Wesmycin)
Taking tetracycline and Accuretic together may decrease the amount of tetracycline in the body. If you are taking Accuretic and are prescribed tetracycline, let your healthcare provider know. He or she may choose to monitor your situation more closely, consider another antibiotic, and/or adjust your dose of Accuretic.
 
Insulin
Taking insulin with Accuretic may cause high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). For your particular situation, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and/or adjust your dose of insulin as needed.
 
Oral Diabetes Medication
Taking an oral diabetes medication with Accuretic may increase blood sugar levels. For your particular situation, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and/or adjust your dose of diabetes medications as needed.
 
Other Blood Pressure Medicine
When Accuretic is taken with another high blood pressure medication, your blood pressure may decrease too much. In order to decrease the chances of developing this Accuretic interaction, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and/or change the dose of either medicine.
 
Alcohol
When taking Accuretic with alcohol, your blood pressure may decrease too much. For your particular situation, make sure to talk with your healthcare provider about drinking alcohol while taking Accuretic.
 
Barbiturates
When you are taking Accuretic with a barbiturate, your blood pressure may decrease too much. In order to decrease the chances of developing this Accuretic interaction, your healthcare provider may change the dose of either medicine, start you on a lower dose of Accuretic, and/or monitor you more closely.
